NVH Consulting Participates in the 44th Annual Tire Society Conference in Akron, Ohio
Akron, OH – September 29, 2025 – NVH Consulting proudly announces its attendance at the prestigious 44th Annual Meeting and Conference of The Tire Society, held from September 23-25, 2025, at the Jean Hower Taber Student Union Ballroom on the University of Akron campus.
This year’s event, themed “Rolling Towards Sustainability: Tires for A Greener Future,” brought together leading engineers, scientists, policymakers, and industry professionals to explore cutting-edge advancements in tire science and technology, with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility and innovation
Johann Pankau representing NVH Consulting, had the pleasure of networking with key figures in the tire and automobile engineering community. The conference featured a diverse array of engaging presentations covering critical topics such as tire/vehicle simulations, tire-road contact mechanics, chassis technology, durability, rolling resistance, and wear—areas that align closely with NVH Consulting’s expertise in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) solutions for the automotive sector.
Among the event’s standout highlights were:
– Keynote Address: Delivered by Dr. Surendra Chawla, retired from Goodyear and the Polymer Industry Cluster, on “Sustainability in the Tire Industry: Driving Toward a Greener Future,” which outlined strategies for reducing the environmental footprint of tire production and usage.
– Plenary Presentation: Frederic Biesse and Damien Lim from Michelin discussed “Tire Wear Emissions and Air Quality: Current Insights and Pathways Toward a Sustainable Future,” highlighting research on mitigating tire particle emissions and their impact on the environment.
– Technical Sessions: Over 20 organizations, including tire manufacturers, universities, and suppliers, presented on groundbreaking developments in design, materials, simulation, and sustainability—key areas driving the industry’s shift toward greener practices
Johann Pankau was particularly delighted to connect during the awards banquet with distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr.-Ing. Guenter Leister from Tire Wheel Mobility Systems and Markus Winter from Kokusai Europe GmbH. These interactions facilitated valuable exchanges of experiences in delivering engineering services across Europe and the United States, fostering potential collaborations in NVH and tire-related consulting.
The banquet also featured an inspiring technical talk by Scott Saas from Alterra on “Polymer Circularity: Steering Clear of Potholes,” emphasizing innovative approaches to recycling and circular economy principles in the tire industry.
Additional networking opportunities and sponsor exhibits further enriched the experience, allowing participants to discuss emerging trends and challenges in a collaborative setting.
NVH Consulting’s participation underscores its commitment to advancing sustainable engineering solutions and staying at the forefront of tire and vehicle technology. By engaging with global experts at events like this, the firm continues to enhance its offerings in NVH analysis, simulation, and optimization for clients worldwide.
